A survey of 2,217 students asked what the importance of place is in an increasingly digital world
The importance of place to the university experience has always been something universities have sought to communicate, using it to express their identity and attract prospective students. In the wake of the changes brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, universities are having to think about and talk about the online experience that they can offer to students in new and eye-catching ways. The online ‘places’ that universities can offer are of increasing importance to the student experience.
Times 黑料吃瓜网 Consultancy wanted to speak directly to students to find out how they value traditional bricks-and-mortar campuses in the wake of the global pandemic and to find out their views on online learning. As a result, we have compiled a report based on the findings of a survey of more than 2,200 students and prospective students to find out where place fits into educational journeys in 2021, both in traditional university settings and online locations.
The findings cover topics including:
- The proportion of teaching delivered online over the last year
- Student views about their experiences of online teaching
- Comparisons between online and in-person learning experiences
- Whether the mode of teaching affects study choices
- Student desires for teaching moving forwards.
