World University Rankings 2018 by subject: life sciences
The 2018 Times ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø World University Rankings¡¯ table for life sciences subjects employs the same rigorous and balanced range of 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields.
It highlights the universities that are leading across agriculture and forestry, biological sciences, sport science and veterinary science subjects.
This year¡¯s ranking has expanded to include 500 institutions, up from 100 last year.

This year¡¯s table features the same top five as last year, led by Harvard University , but there have been prominent movements lower down the list.?Johns Hopkins University has risen five places to sixth, while the University of California, San Diego has climbed 12 places to 12th.
Both institutions have improved in terms of their teaching and research environments and have seen a big jump in their industry income score this year. Johns Hopkins also achieved a greater citation impact score, while UC San Diego now has a more international outlook.
Outside the US, the University of Hong Kong has risen 20 places to 41st, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology has climbed 19 places to 80th, and Peking University and the National University of Singapore have each risen three places to 23rd and 36th respectively.
More than a fifth of institutions in the table (104) are in the US, while one in 10 (50) are based in the UK.
