Sault College is a publicly funded college in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. It opened in 1965, as the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Vocational Centre (OVC).
Sault College offers full-time and part-time opportunities for students in post-secondary, apprenticeship, adult retraining, continuing education and contract training programme categories.
Programmes at the college cover a range of different subject areas and categories including media and design, health, community services, aviation and language and communication. The apprenticeship programmes are also extensive including ironwork, electrician training, steamfitting and plumbing.
Sault College is home of one of the most recognised aviation programmes in Canada, which provides Integrated Commercial Pilot License Aircraft.
Its Student Health and Wellness Centre is a 40,000 square foot facility with academic labs, fitness rooms, meeting spaces and a gymnasium. It¡¯s also home to the Sault College Cougars Athletic Department. They play in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association West Division, while the men's and women's hockey teams play in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
There are childcare services on-campus which accommodate children from 18 months to five years old. This service is open to the community as well as the student parents of Sault College.
